Top Toy.  String beads on rope (Paulie Rope) to make "legs."  String through holes in the top.  Pattern:  Knot, 2 beads, knot, string through top, knot, 2 beads, knot, then cut end.  Repeat for other holes. 

You can also use wood beads, cotton rope, and leather laces. 

Optional: glue small beads on the ends of the Paulie rope.
